's right. you know, the big point of contention yesterday was with house majority leader eric cantor pushing for this short-term deal or a series of short-term deals. the president, according to democratic sources familiar with the talks, made it clear that that is something he does not support and something he would veto. the president has, for the last few days, and certainly weeks as well, been pushing for the biggest deal possible where it it seemed to get some support. of late, it has not. the president believing if you start talking about the short-term deals, you run into the political season where you negotiate the things all over again. if you can't get this done now, how will you get this done in the thick of the political season? tense discussions yesterday. the president agitated and believing that republicans are using the debt talks to make political points. the president making the point, according to those inside the meeting, that this kind of atmosphere just confirms some of the worst fears that americans have about the way washington works. >> well, yeah. the way wa

the arrest of rebekah brooks. she's out on bail right now, but her arrest over the weekend a big surprise. >> reporter: yeah. i mean, she was -- the length that she was detained for was incredible as well. 12 hours she spent -- more than 12 hours in a police station in london answering questions, and she wasle only released around midnight last night local time. so that was a huge development in this. she's out on police bail now, but that doesn't mean she's excused from appearing before a committee of mps tomorrow london time. she's still going to turn up and be careful about what she says, and the politicians are going to have to be careful about what they ask her as well. there could be a trial down the track if she's charged, and therefore they're going to make sure under the rules here that they don't sort of prejudice any forthcoming trial. nevertheless i think she's going to get a pretty tough interrogation at the hands of politicians as will her former bosses rupert and james murdoch who appear now separately from her before the same committee tomorrow afternoon. >> dan, let me as

and making us a better nation? let me introduce to you another dreamer. this is jose migana. a big smile on his face. jose brought to the united states from mexico when he was two years old. he grew up in arizona. he graduated as the valedictorian of his high school class. he enrolled in arizona state university, became the first member of his family to attend college. but then arizona passed a law prohibiting public universities from giving financial aid or in-state tuition rates to undocumented students. hundreds of students were forced to drop out of school. but jose persevered. he found his calling on the speech and debate team where he ranked fifth in the nation. and in 2008, jose migana graduated summa cum laude from arizona state university with a major in business management. jose couldn't work because of his legal status so he went to law school. next year, jose will graduate from baylor university law school in waco, texas. despite his potential to give to this country, jose will not be able to work as a lawyer because of his undocumented status. he sent me a letter and here's
